Niluofar Rafsanjani

Niluofar Rafsanjani, known as Nilu, is an artist based in San Francisco. Born in Iran, she moved to the US at a young age and studied fine art and zoology.
 

Her artistic journey began when she was a child, a time when she started expressing her passion for the animal world and the human form.

 

Her work spans the natural, human, real and fantastical. A specific interest in defying common beauty standards led her to explore archetypes that celebrate female strength and empowerment - a stance against any form of oppression, judgement and discrimination.
